What are my rights as a patient?

You have clearly defined patient rights before, during and following a clinical trial as a study participant. At Accord, we want to ensure you are aware of these rights throughout the process. If you are eligible for a clinical trial, you will receive information to help you in determining whether participating in the study is right for you. Educating yourself about patient rights prior to enrolling in any clinical trial and throughout the study is imperative.

Your Patient Rights Prior to Study Enrollment:

  • Understand all the possible benefits and risks involved with participating in a clinical trial.
  • Understand how long the study will last, where it will be conducted and the overall plan for the trial.
  • Understand what will be expected of you as a participant in the clinical trial.
  • Be sure to ask any questions and express all concerns about your participation in the study.
  • Know that participation is voluntary, but intend on completing the study before enrolling.

Your Patient Rights After Clinical Trial Enrollment:

  • Know that you can decline participation or withdraw from the clinical study at any time without prejudice or loss of future treatment.
  • Ask questions and voice concerns at any time in regards to the new drug or treatment.
  • Stay informed of all the latest findings during the clinical trial that may affect your commitment to participation.
