Do You Qualify for a Flu Clinical Trial in Port Orange?

If you’d like to support the cause and participate in a clinical trial, you do need to know that the qualification criteria will vary. The reason we can’t provide a clear “yes” or “no” here is because each influenza study we conduct is unique. The easiest way to find out is just to contact us. However, here are a few pointers that are good to know:

  • You must currently have the flu.
  • You should be willing to comply with the procedures (clinic visits, scheduled exams) for the study you are enrolled in.
  • You won’t qualify if you have a record of substance or alcohol abuse within the past five years.
  • You don’t need health insurance to qualify for a clinical trial.
  • After a study starts, each participant reserves the right to drop out if they wish.

Compensation for Participating in a Clinical Study

When you participate in an Accord clinical trial, you’ll be receiving premium health care services free of charge. Participants can also receive compensation for the required time and travel commitments. These stipends will vary depending on the various aspects of the influenza study you are enrolled in.

Common Influenza Symptoms

The symptoms of the flu are often confused with those caused by the common cold, so telling them apart is important. Unlike your average head cold, flu symptoms will develop quickly. If you have caught the flu, you may experience the following symptoms:

  • A cough that is persistent but not accompanied by any phlegm
  • A fever (body temperature exceeding 100.4 F/38 C)
  • Chills and sweating
  • Excessive levels of fatigue and weariness
  • Headaches
  • Nasal congestion
  • Sore throat
  • Widespread muscle aches (often the back, arms and legs)
